David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The author

Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A representative for the firm said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, adding: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, which features a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
